Catalogue of Slovak Economic Library
Library’s collections contain over 365,000 library items covering all aspects of economic and related sciences and all subjects taught and researched at the University:
- books (monographs, statistical yearbooks, almanacs, atlases etc.)
- textbooks and coursebooks
- language textbooks and coursebooks
- EUBA grey literature (theses and dissertations, working papers, research papers and habilitation papers written by EUBA students and academics)
- dictionaries and encyclopaedias
- serials: periodicals, magazines, newspapers and law digests
- electronic resources (online databases, e-books, e-journals)
Library materials are acquired in accordance with the Library Acquisitions Policy and are processed and catalogued in conformity with accepted international bibliographical standards.
Library material issued until 1982 can be accessed via a Card Title Catalogue in the Lending Department (2nd floor).

Library items acquired for the Faculties and other Departments of the EUBA are deposited in the requiring Faculty or Department.

Slovak Economic Library is the academic library for the University of Economics in Bratislava. It supports teaching, learning and research at the University by developing and promoting access to information resources. The Library also fulfils the function of the scientific library focused on economic and related sciences, the only one in the Slovak Republic, and it offers services to the external users as well. It provides library and information services to over 30 000 registered users every year.
Main aim of the Library is to collect, process, store and provide access to a wide range of information resources (internal and external; printed and electronic) in accordance with the profile of the University.
The Library creates, develops and maintains library catalogue containing bibliographic information about collections held by the Library. The collections are being constantly reviewed to make sure that they reflect study and research interests of the University. The Library offers trainings, workshops and other forms of information education to help the students, lecturers and researchers to make the most of library and collections’ information.
The Library helps to increase the knowledge of the University’s research by bibliographic registering and storing of the publications from research activities of University’s academics.
History
1948 The Central Library of the Slovak College of Commerce in Bratislava was founded
(1949 - the Slovak College of Commerce in Bratislava was renamed to the College of Economic Sciences).
1959 The Library was renamed to the Central Economic Library.
1983 The Library was integrated into the organizational structure of the College of Economic Sciences in Bratislava.
1993 The Central Economic Library of the College of Economic Sciences in Bratislava was renamed to the Slovak Economic Library of the University of Economics in Bratislava.
